Dungeons and Dragons Chronicles #1: The Red Box!
So I bought the Red Box! That’s right, the iconic red Dungeons and Dragons box is now owned by yours truly. So of course, just like every other game I play; I will be chronicling my adventures throughout here on my blog. Let’s get started!
I didn’t just buy the red box, I also bought the Rules Compendium, because; well I kind of needed to didn’t I? I’ll need it soon enough so why not just get it now? I also bought a cool set of Steam Punk dice, D4-D20, they look awesome. So I’m set with 2 sets of dice, the rules, and everything I need to make a character and play through some starter adventures.
I began by reading over the rulebook and everything else included in the Red Box. Now let me tell you, that is no easy task. Dungeons and Dragons is a very deep game, the rule book itself is over 300 pages. Of course I probably could have gotten away with just reading the basics and just learning the rest as I go, but I’m the type of guy who likes to truly understand what I’m getting into. Plus I want to DM soon too! So of course I read it all, front to back, cover to cover.
There isn’t much more to say in this particular chronicle, I obtained the game and began to learn as much as I could about it. I haven’t actually played anything yet. That comes in my next chronicle.
I’ll be making my character and playing through the solo adventure. And of course I’ll be bringing you along for the ride, don’t worry. After that I’ll move on to the group adventure, once I find some people to play with(another chronicle 
). Then I’ll be trying to get into some more games. Perhaps some pre-made adventures and campaigns, or maybe even some completely original ones too!
It’s definitely going to be a lot of fun, and an adventure, in and out of game. So stay tuned and let’s see what kind of trouble I can role play myself into!
