In my games sometimes my PCs want to test their strangth and skills against others. So I created the Koloseum. Its a large arena about the size of the coloseum. I modaled it after Shao Kahns battle arena from mortal kombat armageddon. It holds thousands of spectators and is fully equiped for mortal kombat tornaments.
It includes 4 death traps located at oppasite ends of the octagonal arena that kombatants can be knocked into. They are: twin crushing gears with blood stains, spike filled pit with impaled bodys of older kombatants, and pools of acid and lava. These can be enabled and disabled based in the DMs choice.
On top of the ledge overlooking each death trap is a set of 2 posts with a manacle on each one. There are people chained between these posts and forced to watch the vicious and bloody battles. These are reserved for people that pissed me or Shao Kahn off.
Me and Kahn share a throne with each other but I am usualy on my computer during the games. So I really dont see whats happaning in the arena. However if I see something interesting I will watch the fight.
Special matches with specific conditions and stipulations can also be arranged too. If you or your players want a special challenge. Challenges issued by or to players can be fought here too. The possibilties are endless.
Now sometimes Shao Kahn will fight people himself in the arena and he tends to get mad when I am on my computer during those fights and then my friend Sekmeleon Shadowsword gets chained to the posts for the next 3 weeks. That is before we sealed him in the infinaty void.
When nither me or Saho Kahn are fighting we sit together in his throne overlooking the arena taunting the kombatants. Also the arena is monitoed by an army of sensors that monitor vital signs, movements, bio feedback, bio signs, and other stats as well. The data is analized in real time by AI super computers. They then chronicle and catagoize the data into BATTLE-SIM profiles tied to each kombatant that has ever fought in the koloseum. I can access this info at any time with my AV-7 security clearance. Usually thats what I am looking at on my computer during the matches. Thay can also be replayed at any time from the database itself.
Sometimes I have to go Dr. HAX on them because they cheat with illegal magic techniques. So I just point my finger at the cheater and shout HAAAAAAX!!! to throw a computer monitor at the cheater knocking him/her into a death trap. These computer monitors NEVER miss their targets. I WIN!!! FLAWLESS VICTORY!!! FATALITY!!!
